The possibilities of Apple Wallet are growing. A new feature lets you pay someone by tapping their iPhone or Apple Watch in addition to using your phone at payment terminals.
‘Tap to Cash’ Feature in iOS 18, which was unveiled on Monday morning at Apple’s annual WWDC event, is akin to utilizing NameDrop to transmit contact information to others and AirDrop to send a brief photo or message. It will be available with iOS 18 and WatchOS 11.

Apple only mentioned the feature very briefly during WWDC, stating that you won’t need to provide personal information to utilize it and referring to it as “private” without discussing any possible security implications.
During WWDC, iOS 18 was also revealed, along with improvements to the Notes and Photos apps, a new password manager app, customized home and lock screens with various widgets, and Genmojis.
